All four systems build on the same ETH Zurich University laboratory-confirmed Swiss Water Cartridge — removing PFAS at >96–>98.5%, heavy metals at up to 99.98%, plus chlorine, pesticides, BPA and pharmaceutical residues while preserving calcium and magnesium. They differ in what surrounds that cartridge.

Start with your water hardness. Below roughly 14 °dH, limescale is rarely a problem and The Essential or Essential Plus covers you: full contaminant removal at every tap in the house, one cartridge change per year. Above 14 °dH, scale silently shortens the life of boilers, washing machines and kettles — that is what the Complete Set adds Water LIME for. It converts dissolved calcite into harmless aragonite without salt, electricity or added chemicals, so your minerals stay in the water and scale stops sticking.
Next, your sediment load. If your supply carries sand, rust or particles — common with older mains or well water — the auto-backwash particle pre-filter in Essential Plus and both Complete Sets flushes them out before they reach the fine cartridge. The pre-filter cleans itself on a schedule (typically 1–2 cycles per year run automatically), and the upstream protection meaningfully extends cartridge life. Only The Essential is fully passive, with no powered components at all.
Finally, your water volume. All systems fit standard 1" supply lines and are sized for single-family homes. Larger properties drawing more than 2.5 m³/h — apartment buildings, hotels, farms — need a system dimensioned to the building; use the contact page and we will size it with you. Installation of any system is a 2–3 hour job for a qualified plumber, and the only recurring cost afterwards is the annual Swiss Water Cartridge.
The range is modular on purpose. An Essential becomes an Essential Plus by adding the particle pre-filter; Water LIME and the Dynamizer can be added when you move to a harder-water region or want the full Complete Set experience. Nothing you buy today is wasted tomorrow — the Swiss Water Cartridge and its 316L stainless-steel housing are the core of every configuration, covered by a 10-year housing warranty.
No. Selective protein-fibre adsorption targets contaminants — PFAS, heavy metals, pesticides, pharmaceutical residues — while calcium and magnesium pass through. This is the core difference from reverse osmosis, which strips everything and wastes 3–4 litres per litre produced.
Every 150 m³ of water — about once a year for an average household. The swap is tool-free and takes around ten minutes. Systems with the particle pre-filter typically reach the full interval more reliably because sediment never loads the fine cartridge.
All four use the same laboratory-confirmed cartridge, so the removal spectrum is identical. Complete Set Plus runs two cartridges in series, so on hard or heavily contaminated source water the adsorption happens twice.
A qualified plumber fits the system at your point of entry in 2–3 hours on a standard 1" line. After that, maintenance is the annual cartridge change — and on systems with the auto-backwash pre-filter, the flushing cycles run themselves.
